چکیده

Abstract In this paper, taking a cutting tool as an example and aiming at the problem of stress fatigue evaluation optimization, finite element model including tool, shaft, washer was established by using methods simulation testing, strain analysis in working process completed. A single fluid-structure coupling method applied to calculate dynamic load high-speed food cutting, ABAQUS used analyze under load. Practical engineering applications showed that practical feasible, calculation results were consistent with actual measurements. The analytical can accurately reflect real conditions key parts be quantitatively assessed, providing reference for optimal design tool.

Structure Optimization of Ladle Bottom Based on Finite Element Method

Ladle is an important container in metallurgy industry, and its lifetime is very important for the natural production of enterprise. The stand or fall of refractory lining of ladle decides its lifetime, yet thermal stress is the direct reason of causing refractory lining breakage. In this paper the structure of ladle mainly by changing the structure of bottom with finite element method is desig...

Fluid-Structure Interaction Using the Particle Finite Element Method

In the present work a new approach to solve fluid-structure interaction problems is described. Both, the equations of motion for fluids and for solids have been approximated using a material (lagrangian) formulation. To approximate the partial differential equations representing the fluid motion, the shape functions introduced by the Meshless Finite Element Method (MFEM) have been used. Thus, t...

A Unified Finite Element Method for Fluid-Structure Interaction

In this article, we present a new unified finite element method (UFEM) for simulation of general Fluid-Structure interaction (FSI) which has the same generality and robustness as monolithic methods but is significantly more computationally efficient and easier to implement. Our proposed approach has similarities with classical immersed finite element methods (IFEMs), by approximating a single v...

Fluid-Structure Interaction using Nonconforming Finite Element Methods

Direct numerical solution of the highly nonlinear equations governing even the most simplified models of fluid-structure interaction requires that both the flow field and the domain shape be determined as part of the solution since neither is known a priori. To accomplish this, previous algorithms have decoupled the solid and fluid mechanics, solving for each separately and converging iterative...

A space-time finite element formulation for fluid-structure interaction

We present a space-time finite element formulation of the Navier-Stokes equations which is stabilized via the Galerkin/least-squares approach. The variational equation is based on the time discontinuous Galerkin method and is written in terms of the physical entropy variables over the moving and deforming space-time slabs. The formulation thus becomes analogous to the classical arbitrary Lagran...
